DeAnna P.

Veterinary Technician

DeAnna was born and raised in Washington state and completed her Veterinary Assisting course at PIMA Medical Institute in 2006. She has been in the veterinary field ever since. DeAnna has a great love for all animals and has rescued many over the years. Her wonderful Yorkie, whom she rescued at 8 weeks old, stayed by her side for an amazing 11 years. She has also rescued other dogs and cats, fostering them until they were ready to be rehomed with their forever families. In addition to her work with animals, DeAnna became a mom to a wonderful son in 2012.

In March of 2020, at the cusp of the pandemic, DeAnna decided to move to sunny California with her family. Here, she reconnected with her previous mentor at Mercy Pet Hospital. Just before moving, she had rescued a 6-week-old DLH tuxedo kitty with a severely broken rear leg. With strict cage rest, this kitty made a full recovery and is now a healthy 2.5-year-old farm cat who loves to walk the farm with the family, chase birds, mice, and moles, play with his brother Ikaika, and enjoy the sunshine. Ikaika, a 7-year-old chihuahua/Jack Russell/Pit Bull mix from Hawaii, was injured badly as a pup but now spends his days in California chasing frisbees.

In her free time, DeAnna and her family love to go camping, take road trips, and ride dirt bikes.
